PIPE SIZING PROGRAM
The demo version of the pipe sizing program is started by
inserting the disk into the A drive and giving the command
PIPEDEMO. This will start the program. The program is
supplied on the demo disk as a monochrome version. The
program will request the type of monitor. If you have a
Monochrome monitor, press the letter M when requested by the
program. If you have a color system give the letter B; the
program will be in Black and white.
The program is unique in that it will automatically use the
correct internal diameters for line sizing with different
schedule pipes, and automatically uses the correct roughness
values. Various fitting can be used. The Program is
designed for a high degree of user friendly features.
Function keys are used to chose between the various options.
The F10 key must be pressed to run the program to calculate
the line pressure drop, after the data is added. The program
requests the required data and all fields must be filled in
before pressing the F10 key or an error may result. The
program will check for zero fields and request data.
The return key must be pressed after inputting a data field
for example the liquid flow rate, for the data to be
registered. The arrow keys can be used to move around to
different data fields.
LIMITATIONS This program will calculate the pressure drop
or lines size for simple single phase systems. High
pressure drop gas systems and two phase lines require a
different method.
This demo disk is limited to a constant flow rate of 100 gpm.
Naturally, this limitation is not present on the commercial
version.
